These are easy to find and can save you money, which means eating healthy for less. The ingredients you will need include: 18 red cayenne peppers, 2 cups white vinegar, 3 cloves garlic and 1/2 tsp sea salt. First wash the peppers and then put them in a saucepan. After this, add in the rest of the ingredients and bring it all to a boil. From here put it on simmer and leave until the peppers have gotten soft. You can make healthy pancakes by adding bananas, applesauce or blueberries to the mixture before you place it on the griddle. Use a vegetable oil based spread instead of butter or margarine to cut back on the fat that you put on the pancake after it is made. If you make your own pancake mix use wheat flour instead of regular flour. Wheat flour contains more fiber and has more nutrients than regular flour.
If you want to cut back on sugar you can use a sugar free maple syrup or a syrup that only contains maple syrup with no additives. Place fresh fruit on to of your pancake instead of syrup, like berries, peaches or nectarines and top it off with a low calorie whipped cream. Honey has less sugar and additives as well. Look for low calorie or sugar free toppings including canned fruits while at the grocery store.
